How to store handbags

I love bags, as you may have guessed by now, but one thing I am really not good at when it comes to them is to store them properly. I know you should stuff them with things, let each bag have it's own, specific place and so on, but I simply never end up storing handbags like I should, and now my bags are all in a big, messy pile. But I have at least decided to do something about it, and because of that, I have done some research regarding how to store handbags in the best possible way recently.

If you are interested in how to store handbags as well, here are some great tips:

- First of all, never hang your handbags on hangers. That can completely ruin the straps on the bag, if you hang the bag on the hanger by the straps, and even if you don't, the weight of the bag may cause it to be ruined while on a hanger. So no matter what you do, never hang the handbags up on a hanger!

- Second of all, and maybe this goes without saying, but I will mention it anyway, just to make sure you never do this: A handbag should always be stored in a dark, dry place, so the sun can't make the colors on it fade, and it will stay in great condition. (I once had mold in a closet without knowing it, and believe me, it totally ruined a lot of my bags. Forever!)

- If possible, place the bag on something soft while it is being stored, so the bag won't get scratches or other damage by mistake when you move it around.

- If you have a bag that may loose it's shape (not all bags are as prone to this, by the way) you might want to stuff the bag a bit. I use shoe bags (you know the ones you get with expensive, designer shoes) and bag bags for this, but whatever works for you is fine too. I wouldn't recommend newspapers though, especially not if the inside of your bag is light in color, since the ink may rub off!

- If you think the bag will be in storage for a long time (more than a month, let's say?), clean it before you put it away. No need to make a big deal out of it, but wipe it with a wet cloth and make sure there are no stains on it at least.

- If possible, organize the bags by how often you use them. This will make a specific bag easier to find when you need it.

- If you think storing stuff is boring, try to find pretty boxes, baskets or really clever storage solutions for your house to make it a bit more fun. Sounds silly, but at least for me, it really works!

Jimmy Choo clutch with a summer feel

Jimmy Choo is not one of my favorite brands when it comes to bags, even though I do think they make very cute shoes. But I love the new version of the brand's Candy clutch:

The gorgeous sunset just looks so good on a acrylic clutch like this one, I love it!

Prada's bags for Fall 2012

Ok, since I showed some of Fendi's newest bags for you, it's only fair that I do the same when it comes to Prada's new bags as well.
So here are a few gems from their Fall 2012 collection:

I am actually not a huge Prada fan myself, but my cousin is, and I have a feeling both she and all other loyal Prada fans will absolutely love these bags. They are kind of fresh, while staying true to the Prada heritage at the same time, after all.

Fendi's fall bags for 2012

Fendi just had their Fall 2012 show and I thought I would show you some of the handbags I managed to spot in the collection:

I am personally not very thrilled with the bags, they are cute and all, but not something we haven't seen before.
The only more unique bags in the collection seem to be these square bags:

I think they are kind of cute, but I am thinking they might not be that practical. I mean, how much stuff can you actually fit into a bag shaped like that? Not that much, I'm guessing...

So I doubt I will be getting anything from this collection!

The upcoming Marni for H&M bags

As those of you interested in designer collaborations may already be aware of, Marni has collaborated with H&M (who I absolutely love!) and I really like two of the bags in this upcoming collection:

If I can (since their designer collaborations sell out very fast, usually), I will get both of these once they hit stores on March 8th.

Givenchy's Birds of Paradise bag

Another bag I really love right now is the Birds of Paradise bag by Givenchy. I think it is a real piece of art and a showstopper, all rolled into one gorgeous bag.

I would love to get this, but I am afraid it is slightly out of my pricerange at the moment.

Cool, cartoonlike bag from JumpFromPaper

Thanks to Florrie, I just discovered this new, awesome brand for bags: JumpFromPaper. They design bags that look cartoonlike, and while that may sound weird, the result is just amazing! Just look at this Bonjour! bag, for instance to get a better feel for the brand:

(the last photo is from Florrie's blog)

The Bonjour! bag is not the only cool one made by this brand, however. Take a look at these bags too:

You can get them all over at JumpFromPaper.

A tip for those who want a pastel bag for spring

As many of you may know, pastel colors, such as mint green, pastel pink and pastel blue, are a huge trend for the coming spring. So I would imagine many of you are looking for a cool, pastel colored bag for spring, and if you are, here is a great option for you:
It's the Executive Chic bag over at Modcloth. I personally love the color and the details too. It's a mere $69.99 and has gotten very nice reviews as well.

Some more cute heart shaped bags

Liked I mentioned in my previous post about heart shaped bags, I really like this shape on a bag, which is why I was really happy to run into these 3 very cute heartshaped bags over at House of Fraser:

The pink one is my personal favorite but the denim one is really cool too, and I am thinking the white one would make a great bag for a bride, actually!

(all the pics are from House of Fraser and the bags are all by the brand Yumi)

My newest bag

I have been a huge fan of Lulu Guinness and especially of her bags for years now. So whenever I run into a good deal for a Lulu Guinness bag, I simply must get it! I have been wanting to get this envelope bag by Lulu Guinness for a while now, and today I saw it on Ebay for a great price (even though this particular style came out several years ago, if I am not mistaken), so I got it of course. (It is supposed to be new with tags)
I looking forward to this arriving so much! It kind of reminds me of the famous YSL envelope clutch (that I also love, but Lulu's envelope actually came out first!).

Another great piece from Alexander Wang

This is the Diego bucket bag. I love the color as well as the cute studs at the bottom, they are a great detail too!

The bag is available over at Net-a-Porter right now!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy Valentine's Day, since I love this holiday. I don't think love can be celebrated enough, which is why I think every girl should have at least one heart shaped bag, to use on both Valentine's Day and on other days you see fit. Some cute ones I have seen lately are these:

I have three heart shaped bags myself, but I would not mind adding some more to my collection when given the chance. I think it is such a charming and classic shape, after all!
