A vintage favorite

This bag might not look like much to some, after all, it is not a designer handbag and the shape is maybe not the most modern out there, but I love it.

You see, I have always had a thing for maps. I think it is because I love travelling, and maps somehow makes me think of that. And besides travelling, I am also very interested in history, so historical maps are even better, if you ask me!

So I had been looking for a bag with a map on it for ages, when I ran into this one, in a vintage store. I immediately decided I had to get it, even before taking a closer look at it to see what condition it was in, so I was of course extremely pleased when I saw that it was actually in great condition and hardly even looked used.

I got it, and even though I don’t use it a lot (it simply does not go with a lot of outfits, but looks great with an outfit that is completely in one color, like an all black outfit, for instance), I love it, and the leather is really nice as well, and hasn’t worn or aged almost at all.

So if you ever get a weird idea of getting something that isn’t available in stores at the moment (when I got this bag, nobody had bags with maps on them, and it’s still pretty rare as far as I can see), vintage stores is definitely the way to go!

Woo, Jimmy Choo!

I am not very familiar with Jimmy Choo handbags, even though I am familiar with their shoes, of course. But I certainly do love some of their latest bags, such as this Scarlet printed glazed-canvas tote.

The pattern is both pretty and fun, but the bag is actually made of canvas, and I am not a huge fan of canvas as a material for bags. It is not as durable as leather, making canvas handbags a less good investment, if you ask me. Otherwise I would probably be all over this one!

Gorgeous blue croc bags from The Row

I've always liked blue croc bags somehow. I guess it's because blue is one of my favorite colors, and because I have some amazing bags in blue croc (my favorite is a vintage blue croc Versace, I really should show that off here one day!) already.

So I am very pleased to see that the Olsen twins like blue croc too. Just take a look at these two bags, that they designed for The Row. Just gorgeous!

Kate Moss is designing handbags for Longchamp again

And I have to say, she does it just wonderfully. I seriously want almost all of these! (then again, I AM a serious Longchamp junkie, so keep that in mind)

They are from the upcoming Fall 2011 line.

New Louis Vuitton handbags for Fall 2011

I am personally not a huge fan of the furry bags (I've never really liked fur on bags in any form, I don't know why) or the monogrammed Louis Vuitton bags, but the rest look very nice to me.

Great blush colored handbag from Chloe

Another handbag I fell in love with when I first saw it on Net-a-Porter was this Chloe Marcie Large perforated leather tote in blush.
I love this color right now and have a bag in this exact shade already, but I would not mind getting another one.

The bag goes incredibly well with white, as on the picture, but would also work with grey and black, I think. And since I tend to wear a lot of neutrals anyway, that would be a great addition to my handbag collection because of this. Definitely something to think about!

Handbag trend for Fall 2011, according to Yves Saint Laurent

Chains as details. (Great idea if you ask me, as long as they don't dangle all over the place, but are fastened somehow)
Slightly bigger, more ladylike clutches. As well as matching your bag to your outfit. (Fine by me as well!)

Cute Anya Hindmarch clutch

When I go out, I tend to wear a lot of black, either because I tend to reach for my LBD or because I have tons of black pants and tops that I like to put on for parties. This is why I need my evening bags to make a bit of an impact. And this is exactly what this Anya Hindmarch Valorie glitter-finish leather clutch does.

It sparkles, but not just in one color, but in several, and the shape is still timeless and classy, making this clutch a really good investment. But sadly, I don't need more clutches, what I am looking for right now is a big day bag. So I can only get this once I've found my perfect day bag...

Still no new bag

I still haven't gotten a new bag, despite having looked through tons and tons of online sales, as well as some in offline stores. Nothing feels 100 % right for some reason.
The thing that comes closest is probably a Mulberry Alexa in either black or a fun color (pink, green etc.), but I still have to give it some thought.

I simply cannot understand why I can't seem to find anything. Either I have become really picky lately or the bags left at the end of the season are left for a good reason indeed.
Oh well, at least there will be some new bags coming out for the new season soon.
